Since Perween’s death in March 2013, her colleagues in Pakistan have begun projects to commemorate Perween’s work in several ways, including documentary films, biographies, books of essays and a campaigns to ensure her death is investigated. The Perween Rahman fellowship is one way Perween’s larger circle of friends and admirers in the ACHR network is hoping to keep alive the extraordinary spirit of this woman’s humanity and to nurture in a new generation of community architects the kind of idealism.
